Marathon Electric has been a leading manufacturer of motors and generators since 1913. The company was purchased in 1997 by Regal-Beloit Corporation, making it an even more powerful force in its product category.
Since 1913, Marathon Electric’s name has been recognized for engineering excellence, custom-designed products and an extensive product line of industrial quality motors. Available in all popular enclosures from 1/12 HP through 3000 HP and in a variety of mounting configurations, Marathon Electric’s unique designs provide more ways in which to add accessories, such as blowers, brakes and encoders, to their motors. Marathon is a preferred supplier of motors to many top drive manufacturers in North America and understands the interaction of drives as they are applied with AC induction motors.
The imPulse™ electronically commutated motor (ECM) combines the rugged efficiency of a permanent magnet, brushless-DC motor with the sophisticated capabilities of an onboard control processor that interfaces with a spa’s control panel. When coupled with our proprietary software, designers can program new and better functionality into the pump motor. The result is a variable-speed pump motor, whose nearly unlimited range of operating speeds give it the unprecedented ability to execute programmed commands.
Another new product line from Marathon Electric is the Globetrotter® (Metric) Frame Three Phase Motors. These motors are available with a totally enclosed B3 mounting, rigid base as well as a totally enclosed, flange/base mounting. IEC Mounting Kits are available with hardware needed to convert Marathon IEC stock motors to B5 or B14 mountings; other mounting kits are also available.
The Globetrotter is designed for use on fans, pumps, compressors, conveyors, and other equipment requiring IEC dimensions and electrical standards. The Globetrotter is not only designed to International standards but meets NEMA performance and efficiency standards making it suitable for requirements worldwide.
