Gates Predator®

Gates Predator® belts are the most aggressive V-belts ever made for shock-loaded applications. Predator belts have aramid tensile cord reinforcement for extreme strength, and feature a treated fabric cover for superior abrasion resistance.

Gates Micro-V®

The truncated Gates Micro-V® Belt outperform other V-ribbed belts and thanks to increased flexibility, reduced heat buildup, Gates Micro V Beltdebris tolerance in the sheave, and the ability to operate at extra high speeds on smaller diameter sheaves. Other advantages of the truncated belt include not bottoming in the sheave, and a better tolerance for debris in the sheave groove. The truncated Gates Micro-V® Belts are extremely smooth running and highly resistant to oil, heat and other adverse conditions.

Gates Truflex® Light-duty V Belts

Gates Truflex® gives optimum service on fractional horsepower V belt drives including back idler applications. Truflex® is recommended for applications such as powered cultivators, lawn mowers, electrical household appliances and heating/airconditioning equipment.

Gates PoweRated BeltsGates PoweRated® Special Capacity V Belt

Gates PoweRated® V belts meet the requirements of higher power, clutching, heavy shock loaded and back idler driven lawn and garden equipment. Gates PoweRated® V belts can be used as a substitute for equivalent sizes of Truflex® belts.

For maximum efficiency and service life, they must be applied, aligned, tensioned and maintained accordingly.

Gates PowerBand® Belts

Gates PowerBand belts were developed by Gates for drives subjected to pulsating loads, shock loads or extreme vibrations where single belts could flip over on the pulleys. A high-strength tie band permanently joins two or more belts to provide lateral rigidity. This keeps the belts running in a straight line in the pulley grooves. PowerBand constructions is offered with Gates Predator® Hi-Power® II, Super HC® and Super HC Molded Notch Belts.

Gates Metric BeltGates Metric Power Belts

Gates Metric Power Belts feature an unbeatable combination of flex and load carrying capacity, reduced stretch and incredible cord adhesion properties. Several construction features help reduce equipment maintenance and downtime, including molded notches (in lengths 3000mm and under) to reduce thermal and bending stresses; straight sidewalls for uniform wedging action; specially treated tensile cords that resist flexing, fatigue and shock loads; length range from 530mm to 10,600mm in 4 narrow and 3 classical cross sections; and Predator belt construction, with aramid tensile cord, available in many SPB and SPC sizes. All standard Metric Power belts feature Gates V80® matching system. This means each V80 belt is manufactured within a finite length tolerance so that any V80 belt will match and perform with any other V80 belt of the same size and type.

Gates Power Cable®

Previously recommended by Gates for the toughest shock load applications, Power Cable belts have recently been replaced by Predator® Singles.

Gates Spliced BeltingGates Spliced Belting

Gates Spliced Belting is used on drives with little or no take-up, or as an emergency belt replacement. Gates Spliced Belting is sold on reels in standard V-Belt cross sections. Ends are spliced with fasteners that require special assembly tools. Always use the correct fasteners with the correct belt type and cross section. Nu-T-Link*, a new, high performance spliced belt, is also available for use as emergency belting, and for drives where conditions are detrimental to rubber belts.

Gates Multi-Speed (Variable Speed) Belts

Gates Multi-Speed belts have a distinct shape. Multi-Speed belt top widths are usually greater than their thickness. This permits a greater range of speed ratios than standard belts. Gates Multi-Speed belts are usually cogged or notched on the underside, and are specified for equipment which require changes in driveN speed during operation. Gates Multi-Speed belts are specified by Top Width, Outside Circumference, and the required Groove Angle. The groove angle can be measured from the drive pulleys.

Gates Super HCII V BeltGates Super HC and Super HC Molded Notch V-Belts

  • Gates Super HC® V-Belts have a narrower belt top width and steeper sidewall angles improve belt wedging for increased performance. These belts transmit three times more horsepower than classical profile belts. Super HC belts feature flex-bonded cords. They are wrapped in Flex-Weave® covers for enhanced load-carrying capacity.
  • Gates Super HC® Molded Notch V-Belts are made with Gates exclusive EPDM construction for higher heat resistance and smoother running. They have specially designed notches and lateral rigidity to support the cord with precision-machined sidewalls for better length control, product uniformity and consistency. Gates molded notched V-belts, also referred to as cog belts, can save you up to 3% in energy savings compared to wrapped belts due to increased flexibility and reduced bending stress.
